I had to find a way to do it and I found web based FTP called Web2FTP works flawless because it uses port 80 which most firewalls allow but the only con is you have to trust that the website will not record or keep your FTP login details. Basically the Web2FTP acts like a middle man. Whatever I upload to Web2FTP, it will upload to my FTP server and whatever I download, it will download from my FTP server and then send it to me when it has finished receiving the file.

    One way to FTP without installing any FTP client software such as FlashFXP or FileZilla is to install FireFTP add-on in Firefox. FireFTP looks impressive but I didn’t want to have anymore add-ons installed as my Firefox is taking up really a lot (200+MB) of memory usage.

    Here is another way to use FTP without installing FTP client software.
    AnyClient is a free platform independent file transfer application that supports all major file transfer protocols including FTP/S, SFTP and WebDAV/S. AnyClient is available both as a web based service requiring no software installation, and as a downloadable application that you can install locally.

    To launch AnyClient application as a service, click on the Applet tab. To connect to a site, click the Connect button to display the Site Manager dialog and create a new site profile or connect to an existing site profile. Alternatively, you can download the AnyClient installer click on the Download tab above. To connect to a site, click the Connect button to display the Site Manager dialog and create a new site profile or connect to an existing site profile.

    AnyClient can store a site profile of the sites you connect to locally on your computer. This way the next time you load AnyClient you can quickly connect to any saved site profile. All site profile information is saved locally on your computer and cannot be seen by users other than yourself.

    AnyClient supports several secure protocols which encrypt your data during transit including FTPS (FTP over SSL), SFTP/SSH and secure WebDAV via HTTPS. Since AnyClient runs on Java, it can run on any web browser on any operating system as long as it has Java Runtime installed. A lot of modern computers should have Java Runtime Environment installed (JRE).
